Solid Rock Christian Fellowship of Prescott has announced Matthew Owens as its Worship Pastor and leader of the music ministry.

Owens was born and raised in Yuma, and comes to Solid Rock from western Ohio where he served several churches over the past 18 years, according to a news release. He graduated from Kofa High School in Yuma and attended Arizona Western College where he majored in music. Owens is a talented vocalist, pianist and guitarist, and loves many genres of sacred and secular music.

Owens’ philosophy is, “Worship is our response to who God is, as best as our finite minds can grasp. We are humbled by His overwhelming glory, and we are enraptured by His irresistible love. We worship by giving ourselves completely to the one who ransomed us from the grips of sin and death.”

Owens and his wife, Cindy, have been married 20 years and they have three children. His outside interests include cycling, tennis, reading, writing and Diamondbacks baseball.

Solid Rock Christian Fellowship is an evangelical church located on the courthouse plaza in Prescott. The entrance is at 148 S. Marina St. Sunday services are 8:45 a.m. (traditional) and 10:30 a.m. (contemporary).
