The No. 21-ranked Cougars ended a three-game losing streak with a 35-23 victory over the Wranglers. Chino Valley had won four straight going into Christmas, but lost three in a row to Mayer, Kingman and Northwest Christian before rebounding Monday night.

Registration for Prescott Girls Softball Association (PGSA), a recreational league, has started, and girls are encouraged to sign up at www.prescottsoftball.com. A free softball clinic will take place Feb. 23. Tryouts will be conducted March 2.
