There are two issues that jump out in today’s headline articles. One is the plight of the Indians and services on the reservations. The shortfall in funds to provide services can be readily replaced, even made dependable, by allocating funds now sent overseas to those who speak and act against us to the Native Americans and their communities.

The second issue is water. I cannot figure out why we are giving away millions of gallons of water to developers on one hand, while we scramble to find enough water for our current needs. The answer seems to be very clear and simple. Please stop trading water for votes. The money is not worth turning vast areas of Arizona into permanent desert.
