Larry Ward Howell was born in McClure, Ohio, on Sept. 20, 1937. His parents were Ralph and Grace Ward; he was later adopted by Luther and Beatrice Howell of Bloomville, Ohio. He passed on Jan. 5, 2019, after a five-year, brave battle with cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jan Tuck Howell; his sons, Ladd Luther (Christy) Howell of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Lindsay William (Julie) Howell of Cottonwood, Arizona; granddaughters, Austin Howell of Bend, Oregon, and Paige Howell of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandson, Jax Gorman of Chicago, Illinois; and great-grandson, Kai Ugarte of Bend, Oregon; his sister, Phoebe (Jay) Huddle of Napoleon, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Adrienne Howell of Tipp City, Ohio. He was predeceased by his brother, Dr. Albert Howell of Tipp City, Ohio.

Larry was a sales representative in the field of Heating and Air Conditioning for the Don Starr Co. and the Bodine Motor Co., covering the western U.S. territory, Alaska, and Canada, allowing him to travel, which he loved. He was an accomplished cook and loved to collect cookbooks. After retiring he played softball in the Prescott League.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but is free of pain as he dwells in heaven.

A memorial service with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Chapel of the Valley in Fain Park at 2215 5th Street in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Larry will be interred at the Heritage Memorial Park in Dewey, Arizona.
