Concert & rodeo dance follows Saturday performances

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Ram Turquoise Circuit Rodeo Finals is returning to the Prescott Valley Event Center this weekend featuring top rodeo participants from Arizona and New Mexico.

“Last year’s even included multiple former world champions and the competition is expected to be even more intense this year, as hot up-and-comers take their shot at the title against established favorites in Bare Back Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie-Down Roping, Barrel Racing and Bull Riding,” according to the news release.

With performances at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5; and 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, participants have a chance to move on to the national circuit finals and prize money counts toward qualifying for the Wrangler National Finals in Las Vegas. There’s more than $175,000 in prize money on the line.

Ticket prices range from $13 to $32 for the Friday evening and Saturday afternoon performances, and from $18 to $37 for the Saturday evening performance. They can be purchased online at www.prescottvalleyeventcenter.com. Saturday afternoon is also family, military and senior day with buy-one-get-one-free tickets on certain seats.

Tickets are also available at the Prescott Valley Event Center box office or by calling 1-800-745-1611.

Scott Norton, general manager for Spectra at the Prescott Valley Event Center, said there is a lot of excitement in the air about the event’s return this weekend.

“We received really positive feedback form both the participants and fans about the facility and the response from the local community has been fantastic,” Norton said. “We are looking forward to another great event in year two and have now added a post event concert and dance to the festivities.”

The Saturday night dance, held under a tent in the Event Center parking lot following the performance, has been christened the Bud Light Concert & Rodeo Dance and features national recording artist Jacob Morris. Entry into the concert and dance is free with a rodeo ticket or $5 at the door.

The Prescott Valley Event Center is located at 3201 N. Main St.
