Del Rio School of Chino Valley is fortunate to have a strong connection to organizations, businesses and civic leaders in our local community. We are grateful for the support of our community partners, specifically Lowe’s Home Improvement store of Prescott.

Recently Lowe’s employees built 21 planter boxes and custom built 3 picnic tables for our students. Included with the planter boxes they donated several bags of soil in hopes to provide our students with the opportunity to learn how to plant and grow flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables.

With planting season right around the corner, the students here at Del Rio are excited to add foliage to our beautiful campus. Several fifth-grade students want to designate a box for each class to have a competition, see who has a “green thumb” after they put in the effort of maintaining and watering! Others are excited to plant daisies and marigolds.

Some of the third-grade students are looking forward to having more sitting room to eat their snacks out at the garden area during recess.

Overall, all students are excited to watch our campus grow in blossoms and blooms over the upcoming years. Thank you Lowe’s for giving us the opportunity of learning a life skill of sustainability.
