Prescott Newspapers, Inc. — the parent company of The Daily Courier — has hired John Mihalyo as its new circulation director.
Mihalyo officially joined the PNI team on Feb. 26 to fill the position left vacant by the former circulation director Jack Perkins, who was with the company for nearly four years.
Since taking a district manager position at a newspaper in California 30 years ago, Mihalyo has continuously worked in the newspaper industry.
In that time, he has worked for eight different newspapers across the country. Most recently, he was living and working in Florida, but decided the East Coast wasn’t where he wanted to be any longer.
“I’m a West Coast guy,” Mihalyo said. “I like living in the West and my family lives on the West Coast.”
As the circulation director, Mihalyo is in charge of all the distribution operations for PNI, including the Courier, Prescott Valley Tribune and Chino Valley Review, and consults for Western News&Info’s eight other newspapers. WNI is the parent company to PNI.
“I am really excited to be here,” he said. “A lot of opportunities exist here; the communities we serve are growing and vibrant.”
Kit Atwell, executive vice president for WNI, said: “John is a great addition to our family of newspapers. His insights and experience will benefit PNI and WNI, as well the communities we serve.”
To reach Mihalyo, call 928-445-3333, ext. 1044, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
