Elizabeth M. Giddens, born in National City, California, on Sept. 18, 1928, left this earth on Feb. 15, 2018, in Prescott, Arizona, to be with our Lord. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Joe O. Giddens; two sons, Michael Giddens and Charles Van Dunk; and two sisters, Jeanette Meeks and Margaret Gideon. Elizabeth leaves behind eight children: Cindy Sorbel of Lavern, California; Cameron Van Dunk of Snohomish, Washington; Catherine Crader of Chino Valley, Arizona; Joleene Blair of Mt. Sterling, Ohio; Joe O. Giddens II of Prescott, Arizona; Debi Bensley of Chino Valley, Arizona; Mary Giddens of Phoenix, Arizona; and Bruce Giddens of Peoria, Arizona. She also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth worked for Sperry Rand Corp., in Phoenix, Arizona, for 20 years, as an electronics assembler. Her passion was reading about Arizona and U.S. History, and she loved to travel. Before being married, she spent time in Prescott with her Aunt Catherine Webb, which is when she started loving the history of Arizona and Prescott. Elizabeth loved her family immensely and her door was always open to any of her “kids” and their friends. Elizabeth lived a full life and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the National Memorial Cemetery located in Phoenix, Arizona, on March 21, 2018. Affordable Burial & Cremation, LLC, of Prescott Valley handled all arrangements.
