Donna Patricia Barr

Donna Patricia Barr went home to her Lord May 25, 2018, at age 88, a victim of Alzheimer’s. She was the daughter of O. A. “Jum” and Maria Heyne, and grew up in Fairview, Oregon, graduating from Lebanon High School Class of ‘48.

In December 1949, Donna married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth, and for the next 42 years, as an Air Force wife, moved many times, including to a foreign country, and raised three outstanding children.

In 1990, Ken retired and they moved to Dewey, Arizona, building their dream home, where they lived and enjoyed for the next 22 years. Donna was a tender, compassionate and loving caregiver, always a server to those in need. She was strong in character.

A granddaughter’s thoughts: “Granny was a wonderful grandma growing up and I will cherish the memories I have of her. She was special to me and I loved her. The time and effort she put into her grandkids did not go unnoticed.”

Donna leaves behind her husband of 68 years; son, Michael of Tucson, Arizona; daughter, Dixie of Mound, Minnesota; son, Stephen of Brighton, Colorado; six grandkids: Daisy of Victoria, Minnesota, Annie of Longmont, Colorado, Shannon and Jeremy of Tucson, Arizona, and Kelly of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and 10 great-grandkids.

A memorial service for Donna will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the First Church of Nazarene, 2010 Willow Creek Rd., Prescott, Arizona. In remembrance of Donna, the family suggests donations to Alzheimer’s research.
