Michael S. Brody Honored, combat-wounded Vietnam veteran. Forever in our hearts. Michael S. Brody passed away in his home Prescott, Arizona, battling Melanoma cancer. Born April 1947, Ukraine descent. Moved to the U.S. in 1951. Married the love of his life Jackie in 1990. Grew up in Chicago, IL. Loved science, geography and history. For recreation Mike raced and restored classic cars stock cars and hot rods, went four-wheeling, often with Jeep and rock clubs, collected rocks and fossils, and played trivia at bars with various groups. Mike served in the US Army in the 1st and 4th Infantry Divisions and 4th 6th and 11th Cavalry Regiments 1967 to 1969 and 1970 to 1972. Fought in Vietnam and Washington DC (riots in 1968). Received a Purple Heart, two Bronze Star Medals, the Air Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and other awards. Was member of VFW, Military Order of the Purple Heart and others. Mike worked in the auto industry for Greyhound, Chevrolet, AMC/Chrysler/ Renault as a mechanic, repairman, trainer, and various other positions. Composed parts manuals for Pierce Fire Trucks. Mike had 4 children with two former wives, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. One daughter, two half-brothers preceded him in death as well as his parents. Interment Service Aug. 7, Tuesday, 10 a.m., Prescott National Cemetery, veterans cemetery at Hwy 69 /Hwy 89, off Gurley St., Prescott, Arizona.
