Carol (Pierson) Harner was born on Jan. 3, 1939, and passed away peacefully after a Christmas with loved ones on Dec. 26, 2017. Carol was born in Alton, Illinois.

She was a business owner, mother and stepmother to seven great children, wife of more than 51 years to Dave Harner, and had nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was a real estate broker, and was a teacher at both high school and college levels. She had a passion for nature and was a wildlife appreciator. Carol has been a resident of Arizona since 1969 and has been a resident of Prescott and Chino Valley for over 26 years.

With her amazing smile and sense of humor, Carol would like a send-off with this in mind: “Whatever you choose, however many roads you travel, I hope that you choose not to be a lady. I hope you will find some way to break the rules and make a little trouble out there. And I also hope that you will choose to make some of that trouble on behalf of women.” — Nora Ephron

At Carol’s request, there will be no memorial service.
