Hailey Denman scores 4 goals in blowout over Deer Valley

PRESCOTT VALLEY — Hailey Denman scored four goals, Alexis Clynes added two more and the Bradshaw Mountain girls soccer team won its fifth straight contest with an 8-0 rout over Deer Valley on Monday night.

Emily Sotelo and Alissa Berry each added a goal in the blowout victory for the Bears (5-1, 0-0 Grand Canyon), which opened the season with an 8-0 loss to Arcadia on Nov. 27 and have since outscored their opponents 34-2 during their five-match winning streak.

“It’s been a long time since this program has won five straight games,” an excited Bradshaw Mountain head coach John Sterling said in a phone interview Monday night.

It is the third shutout recorded by Bradshaw Mountain this season. The Bears blanked Cortez 4-0 (Dec. 4) and Moon Valley 5-0 (Dec. 6) before surrendering one goal to St. Mary’s (Dec. 11) and Cactus last week.
