The Day Joe Died

By Joseph T. Warwick

Think of me and my skin as I touch like humid dreams, this is where long days live wrapped in changing seasons that show the lasting will of God.

Remember me as I become white while having lived in the night.

I will cross the river like a shadow in moonlight’s humid window, seeing the path collide to dust, a world of the unknown is made.

Think of me and my skin which are colors of infinite life, here are time-lines of tomorrow that show the unfolding truth in man.

I am found in vision that has prophesy and grace, where compassion is forever and you find the window of spirit.

I find ancient crystal in discarded stone. Walk with me on clouds of heat while eating dust and dreams, the desert is a mirage of supernatural where you lift you hands in the air becoming blurred pieces of life.

I am the image found in wood that fuels sacred fires, it is where spirits make love in the home of hot ash, dissolving in the coming Twilight.

Show the illusion of pictures that has come from God’s paint, where words and portraits are shadows found in manuscripts of magic, and magic is found in the heart.

Think of me and my skin, I am moonlight where winds never die.

As you close your eyes and dream, look for me in the Tree of Life, I am a nest made from God’s breath that holds the beginning of life.
