ALPINE, Utah -- Police in Utah have apprehended a dummy used by juvenile pranksters to frighten drivers who thought the mannequin was a body in the middle of the road.

According to a Facebook post by the Lone Peak Police Department, officers were dispatched to the City of Alpine after receiving a report that pranksters had placed a dummy in the roadway and then were hiding in wait to watch the reactions of people driving upon it.

In the post, police named the dummy "Fred."

"It may have been funny to them, but wasn't funny to female driver who happened across Fred," the post said. "Officers arrived and took Fred into custody. He's now being used to prank fellow co-workers at the PD. ;-) Obviously if anyone wants to claim Fred, you can come to the PD and get him and have a chat with us."
