No amount of expensive improvements to Interstate 17 will address the long-term transportation needs of the rapidly growing Quad Cities. At least one more major artery out of town is needed – either Pioneer Parkway should be extended to connect up with I-11 someday, or a serious tunnel should be punched through the mountains to straighten out Highway 89 going south.

Until one of these options is implemented (or something more revolutionary like a Hyperloop out of Prescott) traffic on Highway 69 and I-17 will get worse and worse and worse.
