Alex Vakula, a Prescott attorney and the president of the Arizona Bar Association, has been chosen as President-Elect of the Western States Bar Conference. Vakula will take office in 2020.
The Western States Bar Conference (WSBC) consists of 15 states.
The WSBC offers an exchange of ideas among the leaders of the legal communities in the participating western states. The conference brings together bar executives, board officers, and members to consider current topics such as the significance of bar organizations, public trust and confidence in the court system, and other legal issues associated with maintaining mandatory bar associations.
The previous Arizonan to serve as president of the WSBC was Don Bivens in 2003 and 2004.
Vakula has practiced law throughout Arizona for more than 25 years. His practice emphasis is in the areas of real estate, financing, business, and investment matters.
