Kristine Lois Johnson Wilber, was born in New York City at Madison Hospital on April 5, 1951. Her parents, Don and Clara Johnson, moved to Fairplay, Colorado, a year later, where she lived until 1963 when the family moved to Cortez, Colorado.
After graduating from Fort Lewis College, Kris (Krista as known by her friends) moved to the Boulder area where she raised her family and led an interesting life of work, joy in music and a voracious love of reading. She always had a beloved dog or two that played into the picture.
She earned her master’s in behavioral addiction and worked in Boulder County. Later Kris moved to the Prescott, Arizona, area and became a part of that community cultivating enduring friendships with neighbors and their dogs. These friends were always there for her.
She died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 and will be remembered by all who came in contact with her.
