Clifford J. Nicholls

Clifford J. Nicholls, passed away on Oct. 7, 2017, at the age of 92 years. Cliff was born in Detroit, Nov. 22, 1924 to Arthur and Amy Nicholls.
He graduated from Redford High School prior to entry into the military in May 1943 and served in England, France and Germany before returning to the U.S. in December 1945. After his service, he was primarily employed by Unisys Corporation in Plymouth, Michigan, and US Electrical Motors in Prescott, Arizona.
On April 24, 1954, Cliff was married to Clarice (Claire) Carlson. They resided in Michigan until the spring of 1973, when they moved to Tucson, Arizona, for two years and then to Prescott for employment opportunities.
Cliff was a member of American Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and as an usher for many years. He was a volunteer at Yavapai Regional Medical Center and served faithfully in that capacity for 20 years. He was always interested in sports and often played golf, which he enjoyed for many years until his eyesight deteriorated.
Cliff was a man of integrity, compassion and humor and was devoted to his country, home and family.
Surviving are his wife, Claire; son Carl of Prescott; granddaughters Ariel Nicholls and Alexandra Nicholls; great-grandson Jaidyn Nicholls of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; brothers Arthur and Ralph of Michigan; and sister Edna of Anaheim Hills, California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other living family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at the American Lutheran Church at 1085 Scott Drive in Prescott.
