Date Creek Ranch’s Apple Festival and U-pick Season for apples begins the first weekend in September, Sept. 2 and 3. Hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Morristown Elementary PTSA will be selling apple pies, cakes, butter, drinks and recipe books as a fundraiser. Glendale Rainbow Girls will sell hot dogs, chips, drinks, ice cream, face-painting and homemade crafts. A small number of farm animals will be available to pet.
Boxes and tools are provided for U-pick customers. Apples are $1.25 a pound and are organic. Orders for grass-fed beef and lamb, apple-fattened pork and pastured chickens can be placed too.
The ranch is reached by taking Highway 93 north of Wickenburg 22 miles to milepost 177.5, where a large sign announces the right turn onto the dirt road leading to the orchards.
