The Prescott Community Cupboard Food Bank was notified on July 4 that the firefighters from the Goodwin Fire were winding down and they had some lunches to donate.
We drove to the staging area at Bradshaw Middle School to see what they had. We picked up 130 lunches and about 100 pounds of other types of food that had been prepared for the firefighters and was no longer needed. Many may not have seen a firefighter’s lunch but it is huge with about three sandwiches, apples, carrots, energy bars, candy bars, chips etc.
We distributed the lunches to our clients who came to the cupboard for food. The volunteers enjoyed giving out the lunches and the clients really appreciated it. Everybody wanted to share in a lunch designed for heroes. Thank you, Goodwin firefighters and support crews.
